Cortex Beta Program & Release Phases
At Cortex, we're constantly building new features to improve your developer portal experience. Our beta program allows you to get early access to upcoming features, help shape their development, and provide valuable feedback before they reach general availability.
Release phases
Cortex uses a phased approach to release new features, allowing us to gather feedback and iterate based on real-world usage. Understanding these phases helps you know what to expect when trying out new features.
Private Beta
Select group of external customers by invitation only
Test real-world use cases and gather targeted feedback from pilot customers who can handle pre-release features
Direct support from the Cortex product team
Public Beta
Any customer who opts in (or meets set criteria) for early access
Offer new features more broadly while still refining details and fixing bugs based on real-world usage at scale
Standard Cortex support channels

Remote Cortex MCP
Our new remote server makes it easier and faster to access the Cortex MCP to query workspace information in natural language via your favorite LLM. Learn more here.
Key features:
Faster setup: no need to install or maintain local binaries.
Updated context: Cortex automatically keeps the service aligned with the latest MCP specification.
Secure access: Tokens and access are managed in your Cortex workspace with security best practices.
Seamless integration: It works out of the box with popular MCP clients like VSCode, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor.
More tools: The remote MCP implementation includes more tools, such as the query_docs tool that allows you to query Cortex's documentation and knowledge base in natural language. Ask questions like “How do I configure PagerDuty for my Cortex services?” or "How can I use Cortex to drive AI maturity at my org?"
Reach out to your account management team for access to the remote MCP.
Engineering Intelligence for MCP (Research Preview)
Brings Engineering Intelligence data directly into the Cortex MCP, enabling richer AI-assisted insights, not only into engineering performance, but across your entire Cortex ecosystem. Learn more here.
Key features:
Query, summarize, and reason over Eng Intel metrics from the MCP
Connect engineering performance with ownership to suggest scorecard and initiatives improvements
Ownership predications (Research Preview)
The ownership predication model leverages machine learning to infer and recommend the most likely owners of a service using signals from Git activity. This helps teams maintain accurate and up-to-date ownership attribution across their software catalog. Learn more here.
Key features:
View all ownership recomendations in a single page
Accept or reject recomendations
