Self-managed Atlassian Connect App

This guide explains how to configure the Bitbucket integration via Atlassian Connect for a Cortex self-managed account.

If you are looking for instructions on configuring a Bitbucket integration for your Cortex cloud workspace, please see Integrations > Bitbucket.

Setup instructions

Prerequisite

To connect your Bitbucket account using the Atlassian Connect app, you'll need to expose your Cortex backend to the internet. All of the endpoints that need to be reachable are under /api/v1/atlassian/app.

Step 1: Enable Bitbucket developer mode

You must enable developer mode because the Atlassian Connect app you use for this integration is unpublished, and hosted by the Cortex backend.

  1. Go to your org's add-on management page, e.g., https://bitbucket.org/<org>/workspace/settings/addon-management.

  2. Check the box next to Enable development mode.

Step 2: Install the app

  1. In Cortex, go to Settings > Bitbucket and click Atlassian Application.

  2. A popup will appear. Choose the workspace to install the app, then click Grant access.

Step 3: Verify the setup

To verify that Cortex is able to reach Bitbucket, navigate to your homepage and click Import New Service. Verify whether your repositories are being discovered.
