Bird's eye report

circle-info

The new Bird's eye report is available to all customers as a Public Beta feature. Legacy Bird's eye report documentation can be found here.

The Bird’s eye reportarrow-up-right provides deep insights into how entities are performing by visualizing Scorecard data as a heat map. This report is designed to give you a complete view of Scorecard performance across your organization and service hierarchies, helping you quickly identify and drill into hot spots.

You can find the Bird's eye report in the main nav under Reports > Bird's eye.

Using the Bird's eye report

hashtag
Apply a grouping

By default, the report shows a flat view. To aggregate scores hierarchically, select Group by and choose your rollup dimension: Domain, Group, Level, Team, Individual: Owner, or Entity Relationships. Once grouped, navigate through the hierarchy by expanding and collapsing levels. Entities without the selected relationship defined appear under an ungrouped category.

Available grouping options depend on the Scorecard's entities and your catalog configuration. For example, entity relationships appear as grouping options when their children are entities within the Scorecard.

hashtag
Drill down

Hover over an entity and click the more options menu to:

  • Go directly to the entity's details page

  • Preview the entity to get score statistics and the result of each rule evaluation

  • Focus and clear other entities from your view

hashtag
Apply a filter

To narrow down the content in your report, filter your report by Domain, Entity, Entity Type, Group, Level, Team, or Individual: Owner.

Available filter options depend on the Scorecard's entities and your catalog configuration. For example, Domain appears as a filter option when your Scorecard contains domains or entities assigned to domains.

  • Domain – Filter by one or more domains. The "Include child domains" toggle (on by default) ensures child domains are included when filtering by a parent domain.

  • Entity – Filter by specific entities. You can currently filter for entities within the Scorecard or any direct parent of those entities. Filtering is not yet supported for grandparents or other entities higher up in the hierarchy

  • Entity Type – Filter by entity type (e.g., services, resources, custom entity types)

circle-info

Domain and Team filters work for entities that belong to the selected domains or teams. If your Scorecard includes domain/team entities as their primary entity type, use the Entity Type filter to filter for a specific domain/team instead.

Understanding scores

hashtag
Point-based Scorecards

Entities earn points by passing rules, with each rule weighted based on significance. The score percentage shown reflects total points earned divided by the total possible points. When rows are aggregated (by team, domain, etc.), points are summed across all entities in that group to calculate the aggregate score percentage.

hashtag
Level-based Scorecards

Levels (such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold) are achieved by passing all rules within that level. Level-based Scorecards display the entity's current level along with its points and score percentage. Aggregated rows show a level distribution visualizing how many entities fall into each level, along with the summed points and score percentage.

CSV export is currently available in the new report for cloud customers. On-prem support is coming soon. In the meantime, you can switch to the legacy Bird's Eye report to export a CSV.

Failing Rules – Filter by entities that are failing specific rules within the Scorecard

  • Group – Filter by custom groups

  • Level – Filter by Scorecard level (only available if the Scorecard is level-based)

  • Individual: Owner – Filter by entity owners

  • Team – Filter by one or more teams. The "Include child teams" toggle (on by default) ensures child teams are included when filtering by a parent team.
