# Catalogs

Use these operations to interact with [catalogs](/ingesting-data-into-cortex/catalogs/viewing-catalogs) in Cortex.

### Required permissions

* View catalogs: Your API key must have the `View catalogs` permission.
* Edit catalogs: Your API key must have the `Edit catalogs` permission.
